We often hear the phrase: "Complacency kills." My husband lives by this truth in his profession—because it literally means life or death. But it goes beyond just high-risk jobs. It creeps into every part of life. Quiet. Subtle. Deadly.

Complacency is self-satisfaction with the current state, unaware of the danger that lurks beneath inaction or assumption.

We can become complacent in marriage, parenting, and even our faith—letting routine replace intention, assuming the people we love will “always be there,” or letting our spiritual fire fade to embers.

But we weren’t created to just coast through life. We were called to show up. Every day. Fully present, fully committed.
