Don’t Plan Without God
Share
We often move forward in life with carefully crafted goals and dreams, believing we know what’s best. But God, in His mercy, has a way of lovingly interrupting our plans, especially when they’re made without Him. When we find ourselves off-course, confused, or overwhelmed, it's often because we’ve left Him out of the process.
We tend to bring God into what we label as “spiritual matters,” yet we try to manage our relationships, careers, finances, and decisions on our own. But every aspect of life is spiritual when you belong to Him.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”— Proverbs 3:5–6
We find peace when we include God as the central figure in our plans, not just a consultant. The anxiety fades, the striving slows, and we begin to walk in step with His purpose, not just our preferences.
“It is only when God has transformed our nature, and we have entered into the experience of sanctification that the planning of our lives will become possible.”— Oswald Chambers
We must stop believing we need to “put on a spiritual face” before coming near Him. That kind of performance will only push us farther away. God doesn’t require us to be polished, He desires us to be present.
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”— James 4:8
“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”— Matthew 11:28
So bring your whole self, your ideas, your worries, your mess, and lay them before the One whose plans never fail.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”—Proverbs 19:21
