Fear: The Counterfeit Voice That Steals Identity

Fear: The Counterfeit Voice That Steals Identity

The opposite of the Great Commandment isn’t hate.
It’s fear.

“‘And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.’”— Mattithyahu (Matthew) 22:37, TS2009

Fear doesn’t just paralyze action—it distorts identity.
It quietly rewrites the way we see YHWH, others, and ourselves.

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear holds punishment, and he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”— Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 4:18, TS2009

Fear whispers:

“I’m not good enough.”

“I’m not pretty enough.”

“I’m not smart enough.”

“I’m a disappointment.”

“It’s too late for me.”

But that is the enemy.
That is the accuser.

“...the accuser of our brothers, who accused them before our Elohim day and night, has been thrown down.”— Ḥazon (Revelation) 12:10, TS2009

Instead, can you hear the still, small voice of YHWH?

“You are loved. You are enough. You are Mine.”

Fear reveals where you still believe a lie.
It shows where you’ve built your identity on scarcity instead of sonship.

We say:

“If I don’t do it now, I’ll miss it forever.”

“They got there first; there’s nothing left for me.”

“I’m too old to change.”

“My best years are behind me.”

But YHWH is not limited by time.
He is not a victim of your clock.
He’s not pacing nervously in heaven, hoping you get it right fast enough.

“For with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” — Kěpha Bět (2 Peter) 3:8, TS2009

No time was wasted.
Even the broken pieces were part of your story.
He does not discard your delays—He redeems them.

You are not called to separate from the world in fear.
You are called to be set apart in love.

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.”— Kěpha Aleph (1 Peter) 2:9, TS2009

We are called to love people so deeply, so generously, so supernaturally…
that they want to know the Elohim we walk with.

“Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in the heavens.”— Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:16, TS2009

Don’t just pray fear away—face it.
Let it guide you to the cracks where truth still needs to get in.

YHWH is speaking.
But will you quiet the noise of fear long enough to listen?

Reflect + Renew
What fears are shaping your story more than love?

What lies about your identity have you unknowingly agreed with?

Where has shame silenced your boldness?

YHWH is not accusing you—He is inviting you.
Come out from hiding.

“Draw near to Elohim and He shall draw near to you…”— Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 4:8a, TS2009

Final Truth: Step Into Who You Were Created to Be
Once you remove fear and shame, the anxiety begins to fade.
The lies lose their grip.
And in that sacred space of healing, you begin to walk in your true purpose and set-apart identity—the one YHWH wove into your being while you were still in your mother’s womb.

You will be blessed in ways the world can’t understand.
You will love with a depth that draws others near—not because you’re perfect, but because you’re free.

You’ll stop dividing people into “good vs bad” or “us vs them,”
and instead see others the way YHWH sees them.
You'll live a life that invites others into His love.

But you can’t do that if you’re still listening to the lies of the enemy.

So today…
Face your fears.
Let them point to the wounds YHWH wants to heal.
And let His perfect love make you whole.
