He Himself Has Said...

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”— Hebrews 13:5
What course do my thoughts take when uncertainty creeps in?
Do I run toward what God has said, or do I retreat into the noise of my own fears?
Am I merely quoting Scripture, reciting truth like a line from memory?
Or am I truly listening to His voice, letting His words reshape the way I see my life?
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”— Romans 10:17
It matters that He Himself has said it.
Not a whisper from tradition.
Not a fleeting emotion.
God the Eternal, Unchanging One has declared: “I will never leave you.”
"God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”— Numbers 23:19
He doesn’t stay because I deserve Him.
He stays because His character is faithful.
Not my failures.
Not my fears.
Not my inconsistencies.
Not even my darkest days can drive Him away.
“If we are faithless, he remains faithful for he cannot deny himself.”— 2 Timothy 2:13
Sometimes it’s not the valleys of sorrow that test us most
It’s the monotony.
The repetition.
The weight of unchanging days.
When there’s no crisis. No miracle. No burning bush...
Just dishes. Bills. Small talk.
Do I still believe He is with me?
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”— Psalm 23:4
Even there even then He has said:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”— Hebrews 13:5
That means on the hardest days and the uneventful ones.
When the house is full, and when I’m alone.
When I’m overwhelmed, and when I’m simply... weary.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”— Joshua 1:9
We imagine that God is preparing us for something big “out there” in the future.
But as we grow in grace, we discover:
God is glorifying Himself here and now,
In the simple obedience of today.
“So we can confidently say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"— Hebrews 13:6
If He Himself has spoken, then I can confidently respond
Not because I am strong,
But because He is present.
Not because life is easy,
But because He is faithful.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”— Lamentations 3:22–23
So today whether in fire or fog, in clarity or confusion Let my heart rest in what He Himself has said:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”— Hebrews 13:5
Let that be more than comfort.
Let it be confidence.
Let it be identity.
Let it be hope.
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”— Lamentations 3:21, 24
