Legacy Starts Now

Legacy Starts Now

“And you shall teach them diligently to your children...”
— Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:7, TS2009

Your legacy doesn’t begin when you die.
It begins in how you live today—how you think, how you love, how you lead.

Men, your mental health shapes your children’s world.
Unhealed wounds become their inheritance—unless you break the cycle.

If you stay emotionally unavailable, they learn to suppress.
If you never heal, they grow up believing broken is normal.
But if you get help, they gain freedom.
If you grow, they flourish.

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.”
— Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 20:7, TS2009

Fathers Matter: The Stats Tell the Truth

Children with present, engaged fathers are:

2x more likely to finish high school

75% less likely to suffer from depression

70% less likely to experience teen pregnancy

More likely to have higher self-esteem, stronger emotional regulation, and better problem-solving skills

Less likely to commit crimes or abuse substances

These numbers aren’t just stats—they’re a call.
You matter far more than the world wants you to believe.

You Are the Foundation

You don’t have to be rich, perfect, or even educated.
But you do have to be emotionally present. Spiritually grounded. Mentally healthy.

You are the thermostat of your home.
If you are calm, the house breathes.
If you are chaotic, the house trembles.
If you heal, the house becomes whole.

Action Steps:

1. Start with humility. Seek help—whether it’s counseling, mentorship, or prayer.

2. Model growth. Let your kids see you apologize, get back up, and keep learning.

3. Speak life. Say, “I’m proud of you.” Say, “I love you.” Say, “YHWH has a purpose for you.”

Men: You are not just the protector or provider.
You are the pattern.
Break what needs breaking.
Build what lasts.
And let your healing become the legacy your children live in—because of your courage to begin.
