Out of the Wreck, I Rise

Out of the Wreck, I Rise

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?”— Romans 8:35

God never promised we would be spared from suffering. In fact, Jesus said plainly:

“In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”—John 16:33

Still, in every storm and season of struggle, God gives us this unshakable promise:

“I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.” —Psalm 91:15

Our peace is not found in the absence of pain but in the presence of our God.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned.”—Isaiah 43:2

Paul didn’t speak of minor inconveniences. He spoke of crushing realities: tribulation, persecution, danger, and death. Yet he boldly declared:

“In all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”—Romans 8:37

Not by our strength or resolve but by Christ's relentless, unfailing love.

You may feel overwhelmed. But remember:

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”—Psalm 34:19

I grieve for the believer who’s never walked through fire, for it is in the fire that faith is refined.

“So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold… may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”—1 Peter 1:7

“Shall tribulation…?”

It may drain your spirit and shake your resolve, but it cannot sever Christ’s love.

“Shall distress…?”

Even when mocked, “I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.” —Psalm 13:5

“Shall famine…?”

Even in lack, “I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” —Psalm 37:25

Either Jesus deceived Paul, or He is eternally faithful. And if He is faithful, then:

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

—Philippians 4:13

When logic fails and life falls apart, His love remains.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases… they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” —Lamentations 3:22–23

So when the storm surrounds me, and the wreckage lies at my feet, I rise.

Not by my own might. But because His love lifts me.

“Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.”—Micah 7:8

Out of the wreck, I rise.
